On October 13, 2023, Pan Gongsheng, PBOC Governor and SAFE Administrator, met with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet L. Yellen during the International Monetary Fund/World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Marrakech, Morocco. They exchanged views on their respective domestic economic situations and the international economic and financial landscape, debt issues of developing countries, and the 16th General Review of Quotas. They also discussed the issues related to the China-U.S. Financial Working Group.
