According to the statistics released by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE), by the end of August 2026, China's foreign exchange reserves totaled USD 3,438.3 billion, up by USD 19.5 billion or 0.57% from the end of July 2026. In August 2026, driven by factors such as the global macroeconomic data, monetary policies and market expectations of major economies, the US dollar index decreased and global financial asset prices exhibited mixed performance. China's foreign exchange reserves increased this month due to the combined effects of currency translation and changes in asset prices. China's economy remains generally stable, and steady growth is registered, demonstrating strong resilience and vitality, which will support the stabilization of foreign exchange reserves. 2026-09-07/en/2026/0907/2460.html

The international trade in goods and services in this table refers to the transactions between residents and non-residents, based on the same standard as that for BOP statement. The monthly data are preliminary and may be inconsistent with the quarterly data in the BOP statement. 2. The data on international trade in goods and services are prepared in USD, and the RMB data for the current month is derived by converting the USD data at the monthly average central parity rate of the RMB against the USD. 3. This table employs rounded-off numbers. 2026-09-30/hainan/2026/0930/2446.html
